SCMCHA organizes the second meeting of active local organizations.

The Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation organized today the second periodic meeting of active local organizations in humanitarian work in Yemen during the year 2021 AD.

In the meeting, which was attended by heads of departments and directors of relevant departments of SCMCHA, and heads of local organizations, the Secretary-General of SCMCHA, Ibrahim Al-Hamli, pointed to the importance of the local organizations role and activating their humanitarian and development activities at the national level.

He appreciated the efforts of some local organizations, institutions and associations in the cash and in-kind contributions that were made after the first periodic meeting, to the victims of the aggression in the Hodeidah governorate.

He explained that the in-kind contributions provided by the organizations to cover the emergency humanitarian needs in Hodeidah covered only a small part of the great need in the governorate.

Al Hamli touched on what has been accomplished during the past period in terms of measures to strengthen, and support local organizations as well as work to solve any problems or obstacles that their employees may face, whether during the projects submitted to SCMCHA or during the implementation of projects.

He stressed that the second meeting aims to enhance communication with local organizations, institutions and associations, unify efforts and direct them to serve humanitarian work in Yemen.

He confirmed the importance for the mini-committee to resume its meetings in SCMCHA to ensure solving all the problems facing local organizations in order to achieve an effective response in the field of humanitarian work , and enhance coordination between organizations and SCMCHA to improve the humanitarian response mechanism.

Al-Hamli called on organizations to implement their humanitarian duties, improve their capabilities and performance as well as commit to coordinating with the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council before implementing any projects funded by donors in all governorates.

He pointed out that SCMCHA is an umbrella for all humanitarian partners, including local organizations and institutions, without any discrimination.
He also stressed SCMCHA keenness to facilitate and overcome any difficulties that may face local organizations committed to mechanisms and laws.

The Secretary-General of SCMCHA called on the organizations to assume their responsibilities towards the aggression and siege that caused the worst humanitarian crisis in the world, which has tragically multiplied these days due to the denial of the entry of oil derivatives.

The heads and representatives of the organizations indicated the importance of holding this meeting to enhance communication and joint coordination and to put forward views.

They appreciated the role played by SCMCHA in facilitating the work of organizations.
