Tawoos discusses with the Iranian ambassador the humanitarian crisis in Yemen.

The Secretary General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdul Mohsen Tawoos, met today with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sanaa, Hassan Erlo.

The meeting discussed issues related to the humanitarian crisis in Yemen as a result of the aggression and siege for more than six years, in addition to the acts of maritime piracy and the continued detention of oil derivative ships that caused of catastrophic humanitarian conditions.

In the meeting, the Secretary General of SCMCHA indicated that the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression, the blockade the starvation policy that imposed in have caused more harm to the Yemeni people.

He confirmed that SCMCHA will continue to mobilize aid and provide public services to citizens as much as possible to alleviate the humanitarian disaster that the country is going through.

For his part, the Iranian ambassador in Sanaa affirmed Tehran’s readiness to provide humanitarian aid to Yemen and support its efforts to alleviate the humanitarian catastrophe that Yemen is going through as a result of the aggression and siege.
