The Consultative Meeting of the Food Security and Agriculture Cluster to discuss the response plan for 2021.

The Secretary General of SCMCHA, Abdul Mohsen Tawoos, chaired today the consultative meeting of the Food Security and Agriculture cluster, in the presence of a representative of WFP and FAO , the relevant government agencies from the Agriculture and Fisheries Committee, the Ministries of Agriculture, Fisheries, Health, Water, the Central Bureau of Agricultural Statistics, and the Technical Secretariat for Food Security, to discuss the food security and agriculture response strategy within the Humanitarian Response Plan for 2021.

At the consultative meeting, Tawoos welcomed the presence of Agents, representatives of ministries and related entities,confirming the importance of the consultative meeting and the role of SCMCHA in the coordination process and mobilizing efforts to discuss and identify the needs that make the organizations’ interventions in the humanitarian and development aspects successful as well as the importance of focusing on sustainable projects.

Tawoos indicated a number of necessary needs for food security, health services, water and fisheries.

He affirmed the meeting importance in discussing, identifying priorities, needs ,ways to provide them and the transforming them from emergency aid to sustainable as well as the importance of donors
response to the vision and plans that will be put forward to benefit the Yemeni citizen in light of the catastrophic humanitarian situation due to the aggression and its siege.

The participants stressed their keenness to make the goals of the meeting a success by coming up with a need plan to set priorities to support Yemen’s needs.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Opinion Radwan al-Rubai, representatives of the relevant government agencies, and heads of departments of the Supreme Council.
