Fares meets with the Permanent Representative of UN Women in Sanaa

The Assistant Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Muhammad Fares, met today with the Permanent Representative of UN Women in Sana’a, Dina Zorba, and the team accompanying her.

The meeting, which was attended by the Head of the International Cooperation Department, Faisal Modhesh, discussed the plans and activities of the UN Women office in Yemen.

Fares stressed the importance of enhancing the level of coordination between the Council and UN Women, noting the importance of implementing projects that meet women’s needs in the aspects of education, health, economic empowerment, and capacity building, in light of the worst humanitarian crisis in the world that Yemen has been experiencing as a result of the aggression and blockade for nine years.

For her part, the Permanent Representative of UN Women expressed her thanks for the Supreme Council’s cooperation with the UN Women office to implement and make its tasks successful.
