With a total of over one billion and 135 million riyals: Al-Hamli launches the distributing cash aid to the displaced in Hodeidah and the governorates.

The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Ibrahim Al-Hamli, inaugurated the disbursement of the eighth cycle of cash aid to the displaced in Hodeidah and the governorates, in the amount of one billion and 135 million and 567 thousand riyals, with funding from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, coinciding with the commemoration of the Prophet’s Birthday.

Following the inauguration, Al-Hamli, along with the director of SCMCHA branch  in Hodeidah, Jaber Al-Razhi, was briefed on the disbursement mechanism at Al-Amal Microfinance Bank, from which nine thousand and 308 displaced people benefit, at a rate of 122 thousand riyals for each displaced person, in Hodeidah and the governorates.

Al-Hamli stressed SCMCHA’s interest in implementing projects with humanitarian partners that contributes to alleviating the suffering of the displaced, caused by the aggression and siege that has occurred for nine years.

He explained that what was disbursed as cash assistance to the displaced, from a multi-sectoral project funded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, from January to September of this year, was 10 million, 099 thousand, 528 dollars, for 43 thousand and 875 displaced people.

He pointed out that the disbursements include new lists of displaced persons’ names every month.

The opening was attended by Allan Fadhil, Director of SCMCHA branch in Hajjah Governorate, Ahmed Al-Suwaidi, Director of Operations Department at SCMCHA, and Yasser Al-Tamimi, Acting Director of Branches at the UNHCR.
