Discussion of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Needs Plan

A meeting was held in Sana’a today, which included Secretary General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation Abdul Mohsen Tawoos, First Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Abdul Hakim Al-Masdani and UNFPA representative Nestor Or Mohanji.

The meeting was devoted to reviewing the ministry’s needs plan for development activities, building the capacities of young people and their social and cultural participation as well as economic empowerment.

Tawoos stressed the importance of activating the role of young people and supporting them during the current phase, especially with regard to sports activities and projects.

“Yemen’s youth should be empowered economically, healthily, culturally, socially and mathematically” Tawoo said.

The first undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth said the need plan will be dedicated to strengthening and activating the role of young people through the activities and projects included in the plan.

For his part, the representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) confirmed the fund’s readiness to intervene to support the participation of young people in activities and projects to enable them economically and to develop their skills.

The meeting was attended by the Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Council, Mana’a Al-Asal.
