Destruction of 71 tons of expired fluor in Hodeidah.

Today, 71 tons and 25 kilograms of expired flour ,affiliated to WFP, have been destroyed in Al Hodeidah governorate.

During the destruction in the presence of representatives of the provincial violations and environmental health prosecutor’s office of the Office of Public Works and Security of Hodeidah, the Director of Field Operations in the Branch of the Supreme Council for The Management of Humanitarian Affairs Ibrahim Al-Razhi pointed out that the amount of flour seized in the stores of the Danish Council in the province is expired and unusable.

He indicated that the concerned authorities had been informed to play their role by checking the quantity seized, to ascertain their validity and the date of completion, and to complete the relevant legal procedures.

Al-Razhi called on organizations working in the province to abide by the regulations and ensure the safety of food and consumer items when transporting and storing them.

He stressed that the branch of the Supreme Council of Humanitarian Affairs and other stakeholders in the province will take all legal procedures against international organizations working in the province that import expired foodstuffs or store those materials for a long time.

The destruction was attended by the director of the food project of the Danish Council, Heb Belt, and the official in charge of relations Zaki Al-Qadri.
