Al-Hamli meets with the head of the European Union Commission for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection

Secretary General of SCMCHA, Ibrahim Al-Hamli, met today with the Head of the European Union Commission for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection,Heather Blackwell.

The meeting, in the presence of the Director General of Monitoring and Evaluation of SCMCHA, Muhammad Al-Razza, discussed a number of topics related to the humanitarian situation and mechanisms for providing aid in accordance with humanitarian standards and according to the priorities of the actual need in the field.

The Secretary-General of SCMCHA stressed the importance of joint coordination with SCMCHA and discussing the problems to find appropriate solutions in order to achieve the benefit of providing aid according to the priorities of the actual need in the field.

He emphasized the importance of focusing on projects that serve the beneficiaries and reduce the high operational expenses that are at the expense of the beneficiaries in the field, and directed that work be in accordance with the need plan submitted by the relevant concerned authorities.

He pointed out the importance of moving from the stage of providing emergency aid to implementing sustainable service and development projects that would improve the humanitarian and economic conditions in Yemen.

For her part, Head of the Office of Protection, Humanitarian Aid Operations and Civil Protection at the European Commission, Heather Blackwell, praised the positive efforts of SCMCHA in facilitating the work of humanitarian partners in Yemen, stressing the process of joint communication and coordination on an ongoing basis.

She stressed the importance of coordination with SCMCHA in accordance with the standards and obligations of humanitarian work and the laws and values ​​of Yemeni society.
