Al-Hamli and Qahim inaugurate the maintenance and rehabilitation project of the main Sana’a Street in Hodeidah.

The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Ibrahim Al-Hamli, and the Governor of Hodeidah, Mohammed Ayyash Qahim, inaugurated today the work of the maintenance and rehabilitation project of the main Sana’a Street in the city of Hodeidah, with a total length of 17.26 km.
The first section of the project is four thousand and 26 meters long and runs from the People’s Tour to the Revolution Hospital Authority. The second section runs from Jamal Street and Sana’a Street to the Grassi Tour and is six kilometers long. The third section runs from the Grassi Tour to the ship tour in kilo16 and is seven thousand meters long.

The main streets of Hodeidah city are intended to be maintained and rehabilitated as part of the project, which is being carried out by the Executive Unit of the Road Maintenance Fund and is supported by the World Bank through UNOPS.

The Secretary-General of SCMCHA stated that the project fits within the SCMCHA’s interest in allocating funds to implement sustainable development and service projects that address citizens’ needs and alleviate human suffering as a result of the aggression and blockade .

Al-Hamli considered the project as one of the major initiatives that will benefit the province’s residents and help repair the harm done to the roads as a result of the aggression raids.

Al-Hamli emphasized the desire of SCMCHA to meet all of the demands of the people of Hodeidah governorate through service and development projects.

Al-Hamli emphasized that the project is the second of developmental projects for Hodeidah’s roadways that SCMCHA collaborated on with UNOPS.

In turn, the Governor of Hodeidah appreciated SCMCHA for its efforts in putting the governorate’s residents’ needs first, especially in light of the current situation the nation finds itself in as a result of the aggression and siege.

He emphasized the significance of adhering to the approved technical designs and considering the drains of rain torrents to ensure the project’s preservation.

The inauguration was attended by the Director of Local Organizations, Abdul Salam al Nawab, the Directors of the Public Works and Roads Office, Eng. Mohammed Muthana, the Cleanliness and Improvement Fund, Bandar Al-Mahdi, and a number of engineers and technicians in the Office of the Executive Unit for Projects and the Road Maintenance Fund.

It is noteworthy that the Secretary-General of SCMCHA, Ibrahim Al-Hamli, inaugurated on October 16, 2022, the asphalting project of the “Bajil – Al-Junaidiya – Al-Saleef” line in Hodeidah with a length of 33.3 km.
