SCMCHA delivers 32 Hilux cars to the Ministry of Agriculture.

Ali Al-Kahlani, Head of the International Cooperation Department at the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs, handed over to the Locust Center of the General Department of Plant Protection at the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation today 32 double-deck Helix cars, model 2022, funded by the World Bank through the FAO.

 

The delivery of the cars to the Desert Locust Center comes within the framework of the Desert Locust Response Project, and the efforts of the leadership of SCMCHA in response to locust control, which contributes to protecting agricultural lands from this pest, which destroys crops and green plants, and causes economic losses in productivity and livestock pastures.

The head of the International Cooperation Department of SCMCHA ,Al-Kahlan confirmed that SCMCHA follow up FAO organization to provide cars, sprayers and other supplies to the Desert Locust Center, to support  in agricultural development and combating the locust pest, which threatens sources of food security.

He pointed out that the delivery of cars to the Ministry of Agriculture will contribute to enhancing the level of agricultural services and fighting plant pests that threaten agricultural crops, indicating that the delivery of cars comes within the activities of the response project document to combat the desert locust.

For his part, the Director of Plant Protection at the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, Ahmed Al-Kol, appreciated the role of SCMCHA in supporting the Center for Desert Locust Control to raising the level of agricultural services.

It is noteworthy that 100 pesticide sprayers, 60 small and 40 large, safety bags and other tools have already been delivered to the Locust Control Center, within the project.

The delivery was attended by the project coordinator of SCMCHA, Tawfiq Hassan, and delegates from FAO.
