Discussing cooperation between SCMCHA and UNHCR.

The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Ibrahim Al-Hamli, discussed today with the new resident representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Maya F. Amiratunga,the cooperation and coordination aspects regarding the affairs of IDP and the management of displacement sites.

The meeting, in the presence of the Head of the Planning Department, Faisal Modhesh, touched on the mechanisms of work between SCMCHA and UNCHR to ensure continuity of work and achieve the desired results to alleviate the suffering of the displaced and affected people.

In the meeting, Al-Hamli confirmed the importance of raising the level of coordination, pointing to SCMCHA keenness to provide the necessary facilities to conduct the work of th
UNCHR and perform the tasks entrusted to it.

He indicated the importance of visiting displacement sites to know the suffering of IDP as well as to discuss developments that occur in the field on a timely basis to develop treatments to serve the tasks of humanitarian action.

For her part, the representative of UNHCR appreciated the efforts of SCMCHA in facilitating the tasks of humanitarian work, stressing the Commission’s commitment to coordinating with SCMCHAand discussing challenges on a timely basis to move forward in achieving common humanitarian objectives.

The meeting was attended by director of international organizations of SCMCHA Turki Jamil,and director of SCMCHA branch in Al Hodidah
Jaber Al-Razhi, director of Evaluation and Monitoring department Mohammed Al-Razza’, and director of finance department Abdullah Al-Thalaya.
