A meeting discusses the emergency intervention plan to address the situation of the affected areas in Hodeidah

A meeting hold today in Al-Hodeidah Governorate , headed by Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs, Dr. Hussein Makbouli, discussed the emergency intervention plan to address the situation in the affected areas ; Kilo 16, Al-Jah, Al-Tahita and Al-Durayhimi as a result of the aggression.

The meeting, in the presence of the Minister of Works, Eng. Ghaleb Mutlaq, Minister of Health, Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakil, Minister of Water and Environment, Engineer Abdul Raqib Al-Shurmani, Minister of Transport Amer Al-Marani, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs Abdul-Mohsen Tawoos, Governor of Al-Hodeidah Muhammad Ayyash Qahim and Deputy Minister of Electricity Abdul-Ghani Al-Madani, reviewed the current situation in the affected areas and the most prominent needs as well as the interventions included in the matrix which are on three fields ;service, economic, developmental and symbiotic relief.

In the meeting, which was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for the Primary Care Sector, Dr. Muhammad Al-Mansour, the governorate’s representatives Ahmed Al-Bishri, Abdul-Jabbar Ahmed Muhammad and Ali Al-Kabari, and a member of the Redeployment Committee, Major General Muhammad Al-Qadri, Maqboli stressed the importance of meeting the necessary needs of the residents of the affected areas, which witnessed the displacement of thousands as a result of bombing and destruction that impact Service and development projects, through an emergency solution that guarantees the repair of what was destroyed.

The meeting approved intervention within the framework of social solidarity by accelerating the provision of 40,000 cash food baskets to citizens in the various affected areas.

The attendees emphasized what was stated in the plan regarding the reassurance of citizens of their return to their homes from which they were displaced, the landing of cultural and social guiding convoys to the affected areas, and the provision of appropriate diesel fuel to operate water projects urgently.

The meeting recommended the establishment of urgent medical camps and mobile clinics, as well as the distribution of necessary medicines from the Ministry of Public Health and Population.

The meeting also approved the emergency intervention on the service side, according to what was stated in the emergency plan , by removing barriers and dust from roads at the entrances and streets of the city of Hodeidah, restoring the entrances to the city and Kilo 16, in addition to removing solid waste from the city of Tuhayta, and establishing three charitable kitchens in Tuhayta, Al-Jah, Taif and Nakhel to distribute food to the poor.

The meeting confirmed the importance of giving the service side a priority by expediting the maintenance of water transmission lines in the affected areas in coordination with the concerned parties, as well as the maintenance of the electricity network in Kilo 16 , communication lines and fibers, furnishing and operating schools that were looted by the mercenaries of aggression in the areas of Al Tuhayta, Taif, Al Nakhila and Kilo 16.

The attendees also approved what the matrix included in the economic aspect about dealing with the situation of dealing in the official currency and eliminating counterfeit according to the plan approved by the Supreme Economic Committee.

The meeting was attended by the Director-General of the Water and Environmental Sanitation Emergency Unit, Adel Bader, the Director of the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs Branch Jaber Al-Razhi, the directors general of water, communications, works and hygiene, and a number of officials in the governorate and executive offices.
