Discussion the UNDP interventions in the energy field .

A meeting, chaired by Deputy Minister of Electricity Abdul-Ghani Al-Madani, in the presence of the Head of the International Cooperation Department at SCMCHA, Mana’ Al-Asal, and the resident representative of UNDP Oki Lutsma, discussed the necessary interventions to meet the emergency needs in the electricity sector.

The meeting, in the presence of deputy head of the International Cooperation Department, Ali Al- Kahlani, director of Projects department Imad Hajar, and director  of UN and International Organizations department, Turki Jamil, reviewed the activities implemented by UNDP in Yemen and the extent to which they achieve sustainable development.

The Deputy Minister of Electricity stressed the importance of interfering in the field of electricity, pointing out that the aggression sought by various means to deprive the Yemeni people of all services, including electricity, by targeting power stations.

Al-Assal indicated the importance of filling the gaps in the energy field in line with recovery and reconstruction plans to provide renewable and sustainable energy.

He stressed the importance of focusing on projects that serve the community, meet the needs and achieve sustainable development, instead of small emergency projects.

He confirmed the SCMCHA readiness to provide all facilities for the implementation of projects.

He appreciated the efforts of UNDP in the humanitarian, development and service projects.

In turn, Lutsma stressed the UNDP’s keenness to compound efforts to support the electricity sector and expand development and service interventions.
