Tawoos and Abbad brief on the needs of the orphanage in Amanat Al Asimah.

The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdul Mohsen Tawoos, and the Mayor of the Capital, Hammoud Abbad, were briefed today on the conditions of the orphanage in the Al-Sabeen District and its operational and rehabilitation needs.

Tawoos and Abbad heard from the director of orphanage , Ahmed Al-Khazan, an explanation of the needs of restoration and rehabilitation projects, equipment for departments and buildings, the provision of solar energy, and the requirements for the rehabilitation and the needs of the student.

The Secretary-General of SCMCHA explained that the visit comes as part of the SCMCHA activities in assessing the conditions as well as the needs of the orphange.
He discussed with the UNPOS the possibility of providing the necessary support within the integrated response project.

Tawoos pointed out that the health center in the orphanage had previously been rehabilitated with a solar energy system,indicating that SCMCHA is working to deliver an integrated solar energy project with the rehabilitation of the orphan’s bathrooms for the house.

In turn, the Mayor of the Capital indicated that the orphanage needs urgent humanitarian support, to enable it to provide the necessary care for orphans and take care of their education, health, food and housing.

Abbad also stressed that all institutions and concerned parties must pay attention to this segment and provide support to it under difficult circumstances due to the continued aggression and siege.

They were accompanied during the visit by the Executive Director of the United Nations Project Services Program, Fayyad Rasoul, and WFP Officer Dr. Khaldoun Muhammad.
