Tawoos meets WHO representative in Yemen.

The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdul Mohsen Tawoos, discussed with WHO representative in Yemen Adham Rashad Abdul Moneim the difficulties facing the health sector in Yemen.

The meeting, in the presence of the headof Single-window departments of SCMCHA Hamza al-Mukhtar, and head of international cooperation department , Mana’a Al Asel, addressed the requirements of the health sector in light of the continuing aggression and blockade.

Tawoos said the continued closure of Sana’a International Airport, the denial of access to medical supplies were a war crime and collective punishment for Yemenis.

He indicated the importance of working to reopen Sana’a International Airport, enabling patients, students and expatriates to travel abroad and return home safely.

The WHO representative also apologized to SCMCHA for the quantities of mosquito nets that had arrived at hodeidah port by mistake.

He confirmeden the organization’s keenness to provide support to the health sector in Yemen and work to alleviate the suffering of Yemenis.
