Distribution of tents for IDPs and affected people the floods in Darwan in Sana’a.

SCMCHA branch in Sana’a Governorate and the Yemeni General Syndicate of Social and Psychological Workers inaugurated today the distribution of shelter tents for IDP and affected people by floods in Dharwan, Hamdan District.

The aid targets 239 IDP and affected families in Dharwan camp, in response to the distress call launched by the affected camps, within the project of protection services and assistance in the field of shelter with the support of UNCHR.

The director of SCMCHA branch in the governorate, Abdul Moeen Al-Sharif, explained that the distribution of tents comes within the framework of alleviating the suffering of IDP and affected people by the rains in the Dharwan camp,indicating that efforts are continuing to provide the necessary needs of IDPs.

He confirmed the importance of strengthening the humanitarian intervention efforts of the organizations in a way that contributes to helping the displaced and providing them with their emergency needs, especially in light of the challenges they face due to rain and floods, and covering the needs of affected families.

In turn,the head of the General Syndicate of Social and Psychological Workers, Rifaat Hassan, indicated that the project, which is part of the emergency and rapid response process for the relief of those affected in the displacement camps, aims to alleviate the suffering of IDPs and the community affected by the rains.
