Al-Soufi and Tawoos brief on the needs of the districts of Al-Mughrabi and Al-Jumaymah, Hajja

he Governor of Hajjah Hilal Al-Soufi and the Secretary General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdul Mohsen Tawoos, briefed on the needs of the health and water sectors in Al-Maghraba and Al-Jumaymah districts .

Al-Soufi and Tawoos, in the presence of the director of SCMCHA branch in the governorate, Allan Fadila, and the UNICEF water and environmental sanitation specialist in the Hudaydah axis, Fouad Abu Ras, listened from the director of the public health office in the governorate, Dr. Ahmed Al Khalani and Director of Al-Maghraba and Al-Jumaymah Sadam Al Magerbi , to an explanation about healt situation and urgent needs such as ambulance cars ,emergency obstetric radiology departments, in addition to a malnutrition treatment center.

The Director of the Rural Water Projects Branch, Engineer Basem Al-Areeqi, provided a clarification on the possibility of developing a study for the implementation of the water project in the Maghreb district, funded by UNICEF, and the construction of a water tank, an irrigation network and a solar-powered pumping unit for 8,000 beneficiaries where provided that the local council shall provide the well in the district.

Al-Araiqi also reviewed the studies related to the implementation of the first phase of the Al-Jumaymah project’s need for two additional tanks, three solar pumping units, and an irrigation network that will benefit 20,000 citizens, funded by UNICEF.

During the visit,the Governor confirmed the keenness to improve the water and health sectors in the two districts to ensure the provision of quality health services and water projects that meet the needs of citizens, appreciating the efforts of SCMCHA in monitoring and reviewing the needs of the governorate’s district of development projects.

In turn, the Secretary-General of SCMCHA indicated that the visit comes in implementation of the directives of the revolutionary and political leadership to see the needs of the people of Hajjah and to coordinate with humanitarian partners to implement service projects in the districts of Al-Jumaymah and Al-Mughraba and the rest of the districts.
He also called on organizations to support development projects that contribute of providing services to citizens, especially in light of the current situation.
