A Training workshop of Monitoring and Evaluation mechanisms for humanitarian and development work.

A training workshop on monitoring and evaluation mechanisms for humanitarian development work organized by the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation began today in Sana’a.

The four-day course, with the participation of 23 trainees, aims to identify the evaluation and monitoring systems for humanitarian and development work effectively and to develop their ability to manage, evaluate and Monitoring projects.

At the opening, Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development Dr. Hussein Maqbooli stressed the importance of building the capacity of institutions and cadres in order to improve management based on results and impact, pointing out that the monitoring and evaluation of development and humanitarian projects is at the basic of the work of SCMCHA.

In turn, Secretary General of SCMCHA Abdul Mohsen Tawoos urged trainees to pay attention to Monitoring and evaluation as one tools for effective management of humanitarian , development projects and programs.

He pointed out that the success of development projects depends on the good preparation of them, and accurate monitoring of what has been implemented in the field as well as their evaluation.

Director General of Training at SCMCHA, Bashir Masaq, said participants will learn about the main mechanisms of monitoring and evaluation and the basics of managing development projects to understand the different phases of Monitoring and evaluation during the project stages and performance indicators in order to be able to formulate accurate performance indicators for development projects.

The opening of the workshop was attended by the head of the planning department of SCMCHA Mutahar Zeid
