Meeting chaired by Dr. Maqbool discusses Strengthening of Institutional and Economic Recovery project.

A meeting chaired by Deputy PM for Services affairs Dr. Hussein Maqboi discussed the Strengthening of Institutional and Economic Recovery project funded by EU that aimed at building resilience , economic recovery, and services delivery.

The meeting, which included The Secretary-General of SCMCHA Abdul Mohsen Tawoos, project manager at UNOPS Peter VanPol and the leader of the Good Governance and Rule of Law Team Lucy Matheson, touched on mechanisms related to strenthening of institutional and economic recovery to enhance the resilience of affected local communities .

The meeting discussed the mechanisms of responding to the needs of the community of basic services, and the selection of targeted districts in the provinces to activate the role of local institutions to service citizens.

The Deputy PM confirmed the importance of empowering the poorest and meeting the need to improve the standard of living.

For his part, Tawoos stressed the importance of this project to make the community contribute to the process of development and recovery and work to restore sources of income and enable communities to overcome future challenges .

Tawoos added projects should be directed towards development in order to create jobs that support the structure of society and establish real development.

Peter VanPol explained that the three-year project to strengthen institutional resilience in Yemen aims to support the resilience of local government systems and develop their administrative capabilities.

The meeting was attended by the head of International Cooperation depatment, Mana’a Al-Asal, And head of Single-window Hamza al-Mukhtar, Vice President of the Department of Cooperation Ali Al-Kahlani, General Director of Follow-up and Evaluation of the Council Mohammed Ali and Project Coordinator Nabil Al-Damashgy
