SCMCHA discusses aspects of coordination with UNHCR.

The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation Abdul Mohsen Tawoos discussed today with UNHCR Resident Representative Nicholas , the aspects of cooperation and coordination with UNHCR regarding the affairs of displaced persons and the management of displacement sites.

The meeting, in the presence of the head of the coordination department Faisal Medhejsh and deputy representative of the Commission, Iraj Aumbardev, discussed the mechanisms of action between the SCMCHA and UNHCR to ensure the continuity of work and achieve the desired results that alleviate the suffering of the displaced and the affected.

At the meeting, Tawoos confirmed the SCMCHA readiness to provide the necessary facilities for UNNHCR’S work and the functions assigned to it.

He indicted the importance of discussing developments within the joint commission to ensure that work continues in partnership, coordination and fruitful cooperation that serves the humanitarian process.

The UNHCR Resident Representative confirmed UNHCR’s commitment to coordinate with the Council and discuss challenges step by step to advance the common humanitarian objective.
