Discussion of coordination mechanisms and priorities for the need for the education sector.

A meeting in Sana’a today, which included The Secretary General of SCMCHA Abdul Mohsen Tawoos and Deputy Minister of Education Qassem Al-Hamran, discussed the mechanisms of coordination between the SCMCHA, the ministry and the education Cluser as well as identifying the need for the education sector.

The meeting, which was attended by Under-Secretaries Ibrahim Sharaf and Abdullah al-Naomi and UNICEF Education Cluster Coordinator Rania Khoury, reviewed the coordination mechanisms and the draft response plan for 2021.

Tawoos stressed the importance of joint and organized coordination through the joint technical committees of the ministry and the Cluster to come up with a joint plan to prioritise the needs of the education sector, in order to facilitate the implementation of projects and achieve the advancement of the educational process in the current situation.

For his part, the Deputy Minister of Education confirmed the importance of joint coordination and concerted efforts to work in accordance with mechanisms to ensure that the needs of the education sector are met according to priority and overcome the problems by developing appropriate treatments.

The meeting was attended by the director of the technical office in the ministry, Ali al-Haymi, and the general director of coordination sector of SCMCHA, Abdullah Abu Taleb.
