Discussion of UNDP support programmes for the Coast Guard

A meeting was held in Sana’a today in the presence of the Secretary General of SCMCHA Abdul Mohsen Tawoos, to discuss the stages of the project to support the Coast Guard in the Red Sea sector.

The meeting, which included The Head of the Department of International Cooperation, Mana’a Al-Asal, Coast Guard Undersecretary Dr. Nashwan al-Baghdadi,as well as participated in a television by The Coast Guard Support Project Manager mark Aiken and Director program in WFP Allen Hamza, discussed aspects related to the program’s support for the Coast Guard in the areas of training, capacity-building, equipment provision and reconstruction.

The meeting also touched on the importance of the formation of a facilitation and coordination committee that included SCMCHA , the Ministry of interior, the Coast Guard department as well as the importance of involvinthe Committee in all phrases of the project, from the evaluation phase untilcreating an environment conducive to maritime safety.

At the meeting, Tawoos stressed the importance of continuous coordination, implementation and evaluation of activities according to the need plan, the sufficiency of local experts and trainers and the arrangement of the stages of the implementation of the project to be in accordance with the priorities.

The meeting was attended by Vice President of the Department of Cooperation Ali Al-Kahlani and Director General of International Organizations Turki Jamil, From the Coast Guard Dr. Mohammed Ajlan and Abdul Malik Al-Fa’ahi and from the Interior Ministry Yahya al-Ansari and Moaz Al-Charfi.
