Discussion of coordination mechanism with FAO to support agriculture needs

The Secretary General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation Abdul Mohsen Taous discussed today with Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Dr. Radwan Ali Al-Rubai and the representative of FAO Dr. Hussein Gadin a number of topics related to the humanitarian and development aspect and the problems facing work in the agricultural field.

The meeting, which was attended by The Head of the Single – Window_Department Hamza al-Mukhtar, Head of Planning Department Mutahar Zeid and FAO Assistant Representative Dr. Mohammed Noman Salam, discussed a number of topics related to the provision of assistance to support the agricultural field.

The meeting discussed a number of projects , how could be implemented by humanitarian workers, and the coordination mechanism between the SCMCHA , the Ministry of Agriculture and FAO to overcome the challenges and difficulties facing the work in the field.

Tawoos explained that the work,which based on an organized basis from the beginning of the meeting of the Culsters until the development of the need plan, will enhance the work in order to achieve positive results and meet the actual need that contribute to overcoming all problems that may appear step by step.

The Secretary General of the Supreme Council stressed the importance of coordinating for a joint meeting between the Technical Committee of both the Ministry of Agriculture and FAO to develop appropriate remedies for all previous problems that hinder the course of work and to develop an organized mechanism and an operational action plan for the next phase.

For his part, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture expressed his appreciation for the coordination between FAO and stakeholders, which will achieve the state of efficiency and effectiveness in delivering humanitarian assistance and improving the aspects of relief.

He explained that the Ministry of Agriculture through SCMCHA are working to overcome the difficulties in the face of serious efforts to ensure the progress of humanitarian work and achieve its common goals.
