discussion aspects of cooperation and coordination with UNHCR.

Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdul Mohsen Tawoos, discussed today with UNHCR Resident Representative John Nicholas the actual aspects of cooperation, coordination and partnership.

At the meeting,in the presence of the head of the International Cooperation Department, Mana’a Al-Asal, Tawoos confirmed the importance of establishing working mechanisms to ensure the effective partnership that will promote humanitarian work, serve beneficiaries and provide services to those affected.

He also confirmed the importance of adhering of the rules of humanitarian work as well as to work in accordance with clear standards and mechanisms, understand the roles , responsibilities and competences as well as the importance of ongoing coordination with the Council, raising annual report and the current year’s plan so that the Secretariat could evaluate the work and develop appropriate recommendations that would improve the level of work and ensure that services reach the actual need.
Nicholas stressed UNCHR’s commitment to cooperate with the Council and to make efforts that maintain the frameworks for joint coordination.
He appreciated the Council’s efforts to provide facilities to humanitarian organizations working in Yemen.

The meeting was attended by The Director General of the Office of Secretary General Mohammed Hajar, Director General of Displacement Khaled Al-Abali and Director General of Finance Abdullah Al-Thalaya.
