Launching of an analytical workshop on the integrated interim classification of acute malnutrition in Yemen.

The head of single window of SCMCHA, Hamza al-Mukhtar , in the presence of head Planning Department Mutaher Zaid, a number of members of the National Technical Committee for Integrated Interim Classification launched the analytical workshop for the integrated phased classification of acute malnutrition in Yemen.

The workshop is part of a nine-day food security and early warning systems development program.

It focuses on analysing the interim classification on the severity and magnitude of food insecurity and malnutrition, as well as how to utilize evaluative information in strategic decision-making.

At the opening, Hamza al-Mukhtar, head of the single window department, explained the importance of this analytical workshop, the results of which will be reflected in the appropriate decision-making process as part of a strategic action plan to be taken by the government for the benefit of the citizen.

He praised FAO’s role in the efforts to implement development projects and programmes that contribute to improving food security and nutrition in Yemen.

He also Pointed out that participates should get benefit from workshop to enhance the knowledge and ability to use the interim classification mechanism as a tool to analyze the food security situation and come up with an integrated classification that serves as a guide to be raised to benefit from it in developing solutions and making appropriate decisions and policies to improve the situation of food security in Yemen
