Tawoos praises Zakat Authority’s initiative to support quarantine centers.

The Secretary General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation (SCMCHA), Abdul Mohsen Tawoos praised today the initiative of the Branch of the General Authority for Zakat in Thamar province by providing a food caravan to the arrivals to the city’s quarantine centers.

Tawoos said the zakat authority’s initiative to support quarantine centers with a food ccaravan came in the absence of a role for international organizations in this regard.

He pointed to the need for quarantine centers to confront Corona, calling on international organizations to intervene and provide services to quarantine centers. He praised the efforts of the local authority and health, security,and service committees to provide services to the centers despite the lack of resources.

“The zakat authority’s initiative is part of the local authority’s efforts to confront the coronavirus and receive expatriates to quarantine centers and provide services to them with their own means” said Fahad Abdul Hamid al-Maroni, the province’s first deputy.

He stressed the continued adoption of health and preventive measures by the local authority and relevant offices, Praising the efforts of the Zakat Authority branch, health and security committees and the. Red Crescent Society in Thamar

Majed al-Tenh, director of zakat branch, said the food ccaravan comes after a field landing at the quarantine centers to touch on the needs of the arrivals.

He confirmed the authority’s readiness to provide services to those arriving in quarantine centers.

The distribution was attended by the director of the province’s security, Brig. Gen. Ahmed Al-Charfi, and the director of the Technical Education Office, Najib Al-Hashidi.
