Al-Houthi chairs a government meeting with a number of UN organizations.

A joint government meeting was held today in Sana’a with a number of UN organizations headed by Supreme Political Council member Mohammed Ali al-Houthi and attended by Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor.

The meeting was devoted to discussing ways to develop partnerships between relevant government agencies and UN and international organizations working in our country in the face of the growing humanitarian challenges facing the Yemeni people and to strengthen the level of work in overcoming the difficulties and problems facing a number of Humanitarian activities.

In the meeting, which included deputy prime minister for security and defense affairs Lt. Gen. Jalal al-Ruwaishan, services and development Dr. Hussein Maqbool, National Vision Mahmoud Al-Junaid, Secretary of the Capital Hammoud Abad and Secretary General of the Supreme Council for The Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation Abdul Mohsen Tawoos United Nations Resident Representative, Humanitarian Coordinator Liz Grandi, Ocha Office Director Aydin O’Leary, IOM Mission Chief Krista Rotensaner, WFP Operations Director Sheila Mathew, FAO Resident Representative Hussein Gadin and Acting Representative of FAO UNICEF’s John Luca, where they have examined the appropriate mechanism for developing and expanding the volume of UN and international humanitarian interventions to meet growing needs.

The mechanism includes the translation of the understandings signed between the Supreme Council for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and a number of UN organizations on the ground in order to strengthen the process of meeting the basic requirements, such as foremost food, with the possibility of jointly reviewing and developing them and solving any problems that would Influencing in any way on the progress of the implementation process.

It was emphasized that the joint efforts were made to continue to alleviate the Yemeni citizen and reduce the suffering of the yemeni citizen, which he has been going through for five years as a result of the aggression and siege, and to work in various ways to solve the problems and overcome the difficulties that faced by various UN and international organizations.

The meeting concluded with the formation of a working group of the Supreme Council and participating organizations to review the drafting of the proposed agreements in preparation for their final binding signature to the government parties and humanitarian organizations concerned.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Director of the Prime Minister’s Office for Humanitarian Affairs Mohammed Al Ameri and Heads of Departments of the Supreme Council .
