Launching project of distributing emergency aid to the displaced in Hodeidah.

Acting Governor of Hodeidah Mohammed Ayash Qahim launched. today a project to distribute emergency cash assistance to displaced and affected people in the current, al-Hok and Al Mina district.

During the launch of the two-week project, funded by UNICEF in coordination with the Branch of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation in the Province, Qahim praised the support of ACTED and donors to displaced and poor families that alleviate their suffering under the the current situation in the province as a result of the continuation of the aggression and the blockade.

He stressed the importance of providing the necessary needs for displaced people arriving at the provincial and nearby governorates.

Abdullah al-Ahdal, deputy director of the Branch of the Supreme Council for The Administration and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, said the number of cases ofdisplayed families of the province has increased due to the siege and the escalation of aggression.

He called on organizations and donors working in Yemen to provide assistance to displaced and poorer families in the province.

For his part, ACTED project manager Abdullah Ali Qais explained that the number of cases targeted under the project reached 2,000 and 144 cases in the district of the current provincial center, Al-Hok and Al-Mina.
